Yerevan appellate court upholds rejection of lawsuits against opposition MP
The Administrative Court of Appeals in Yerevan has refused to fine Ishkhan Saghatelyan, a senior member of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) and an opposition Hayastan faction MP.
His attorney Vahe Grigoryan said in a statement that the appellate court upheld the lower court’s rejection of four lawsuits filed by former Yerevan Mayor Hrachya Sargsyan against Saghatelyan concerning opposition protests in the Armenian capital in 2022.
The lawsuits sought a penalty of 1,200,000 drams against the opposition MP as an organizer of the protests.
“The Administrative Court of Appeals has rejected the former Yerevan mayor’s request, upholding the rulings issued by the Administrative Court,” Grigoryan said.
