Armenia ready to sign peace deal with Azerbaijan as soon as possible, FM reiterates
Foreign Minster Ararat Mirzoyan on Monday reaffirmed Armenia’s strong commitment to the peace agenda.
At a joint news conference with his French counterpart Stéphane Séjourné in Yerevan, he recalled that Armenia recently submitted a fully agreed edition of the draft peace agreement to Azerbaijan.
“Armenia stands ready to sign the peace treaty with Azerbaijan, the draft that Armenia and Azerbaijan have already agreed on, in the shortest possible timeframe,” Mirzoyan remarked.
The minister highlighted that the draft agreement commits the two countries to recognize each other’s territorial integrity based on the Alma-Ata Declaration and their Soviet-era borders.
