Pashinyan apologizes to Armenian people, says they're forced to live in 'historical cycle'
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan again contrasted the concepts of “Real Armenia” and “Historical Armenia” with each other, insisting that the Armenian people were forced to live in a “historical cycle”.
“The conceptual dilemma currently under discussion in the country is as follows: what is the Republic of Armenia for? Is it an outpost, a support point to have bigger country (the concept of Historical Armenia) or a mechanism to ensure the well-being of its own citizens in its internationally recognized territory (the concept of Real Armenia), with the perception that good living, freedom, justice and security are indispensable parts of well-being,” Pashinyan said in a social media post on Sunday.
“I believe that our people have long made their choice in favor of Real Armenia.
“But we, the rulers at different times, did not listen to him and basically forced the people to live in the "historical cycle". This is why we should offer apologies to our people and I apologize for my part,” he penned.
