French FM says defense cooperation with Armenia will continue
France and Armenia will continue cooperation in the defense sector, French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Stéphane Séjourné said in Yerevan on Monday.
“We will continue defense cooperation,” he told a joint news conference with his Armenian counterpart Ararat Mirzoyan.
“Armenia should be able to protect its integrity, territory and population," Séjourné underscored, adding that defense cooperation between friends is natural.
"It's being done in respect for sovereignty and without any desire for escalation,” the French diplomat added.
He expressed support for the border delimitation process between Armenia and Azerbaijan based on the principles of sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Séjourné urged Azerbaijan to demonstrate its sincere commitment to peace in the run-up to COP29 in Baku in November.
