U.S. continues to support Armenia-Azerbaijan peace efforts
The United States continues to support the efforts of Armenia and Azerbaijan to reach a durable and dignified peace agreement, State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller said on Monday.
"Obviously we always look for opportunities to convene the foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan. We continue to support the efforts of both countries to reach a durable and dignified peace agreement," he told a press briefing when asked whether Secretary of State Antony Blinken plans to put together another meeting in New York after his phone calls with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
"They have made significant progress towards finalizing a peace agreement, and we’re committed to supporting them in any way that we can, including convening a meeting if that’s helpful," Miller added.
