Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan marks first anniversary of Azeri attack on Artsakh
Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan expressed support for Armenian prisoners held in Azerbaijan, including Artsakh's military and political leaders, as he visited the Yerablur Military Pantheon in Yerevan on Thursday to mark the first anniversary of Azerbaijan’s 2023 attack and seizure of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) which forced its ethnic Armenian population to flee their homes and seek refuge in Armenia.
“They are being held captive as a result of criminal cooperation between the current Armenian leadership and Azerbaijani authorities. At the same time, it’s a stigma for the international community as well,” the archbishop said.
Galstanyan called out the international community for failure to help repatriate the Armenians illegally held in Baku prisons for political reasons.
