Serzh Sargsyan issues Independence Day message
Third Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan issued a message on Armenia’s Independence Day celebrated on September 21.
"Independence, just like victory, is awarded to the worthy, to those, who after gaining these values through the struggle and hardship, also know who to maintain it," Sargsyan stated.
"Any nation for which independence is not a conscious choice and a vital necessity will lose it.
"Eternal glory to all our martyrs who gave their lives for our Independence. A tribute to their memory is first of all our collective ability to be worthy of their deed as well as the ability to safeguard their sacred mission.
"God bless our Fatherland and our nation," reads the message.
