Armenian women's team among top five finishers of Chess Olympiad
The Armenian women's team is in the top five in the 45th FIDE Chess Olympiad.
The olympiad was held in Budapest, Hungary, from September 11 to 22.
The Armenian women's team shared the 3rd-6th places, taking the 5th place with tie-breaks. There were 169 teams in the women section, the Chess Federation reported.
The team included IM Lilit Mkrtchian, WIM Mariam Mkrtchyan, GM Elina Danielian, IM Anna Sargsyan and WIM Susanna Gaboyan.
The Armenian men's team shared the 2nd-6th places, taking the 6th place with tie-breaks. There were 188 teams in the open section.
The team members were GM Haik Martirosyan, GM Shant Sargsyan, GM Gabriel Sargissian, GM Robert Hovhannisyan and GM Karen Grigoryan.
