Workshop on 'Innovations in Autonomous Systems' to be held within WCIT2024/DigiTec
The Union of Advanced Technology Enterprises of Armenia (UATE) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Center of Scientific Innovations and Education (CSIE) on organizing Innovations in Autonomous Systems Workshop during WCIT2024/DigiTec. This partnership offers a unique opportunity for investors from around the world to not only attend the Congress but also explore Armenia's dynamic research landscape. This workshop will bring together leading experts, researchers, and industry professionals to explore the latest advancements and future directions in autonomous systems.
UATE Executive Director Sargis Karapetyan and CSIE Director Rafi Baghdjian signed the memorandum and announced the joint efforts aimed at involving the international expert community in the field.
"I want to thank WCIT for this unique opportunity to collaborate. When we founded the Center of Scientific Innovations and Education (CSIE) in 2021, our goal was to position Armenia as a leading hub for autonomous systems. Thanks to WCIT, we are now able to organize the Innovations in Autonomous Systems Workshop in Armenia, bringing together scholars and experts from around the world. These top professionals will not only participate in the workshop but will also explore Armenia's IT ecosystem and build valuable connections," said Rafi Baghdjian, adviser at the Center of Scientific Innovations and Education (CSIE).
The "Innovations in Autonomous Systems" workshop will take place on October 6, at the Karen Demirtchian Complex, and will feature three comprehensive keynote sessions, each focusing on a different area of robotics: ground robotics, underwater robotics, and aerial robotics. These sessions will offer deep insights into the cutting-edge technologies driving innovation in each field.
The speakers at the workshop include Naira Hovakimyan, W. Grafton, and Lillian B. Wilkins Professor of Mechanical Science and Engineering, and Director of the AVIATE Center at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC); Gregory Chirikjian, Willis F. Harrington Professor and Chair of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Delaware; Eric Feron, Professor of Electrical, Computer, and Mechanical Engineering, and Director of the Robotics, Intelligent Systems, and Control (RISC) Laboratory at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST); and many others.
More details about the Workshop and registration can be found on the CSIE webpage.
"During WCIT2024/DigiTec, we will periodically discuss science, and our goal is to invite the best scientists in the field to Armenia. We believe that the solution to global challenges will come through science. As history shows, all global wars and disasters have come to an end thanks to scientific innovations. We are very pleased with this collaboration and grateful to CSIE for this initiative," said Sargis Karapetyan, Executive Director of the Union of Advanced Technology Enterprises (UATE)․
