Armenian FM, UN refugee chief meet in New York
Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan met with UN High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi on the sidelines of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly in New York on Tuesday.
They discussed issues on the continuous cooperation between Armenia and the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, the Armenian Foreign Ministry reported.
"The sides touched upon the steps taken by the Government of the Republic of Armenia to address the primary and medium-term needs of the approximately 115,000 Armenians forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh exactly one year ago, as well as to develop programs in the long-term perspective. The cooperation with international partners for this purpose was stressed," the ministry said in its readout.
Mirzoyan briefed Grandi on the latest discussions in the normalization of relations with Azerbaijan and Armenia's approaches on key issues.
