Political analyst says South Caucasus turning into a 'powder keg'
Political analyst Sergei Melkonian, a research fellow at the Applied Policy Research Institute (APRI Armenia), warns that the South Caucasus region is turning into a “powder keg” amid Israel’s massive arms supplies to Azerbaijan.
His comments came after a new batch of Israeli weapons arrived in Azerbaijan.
“This is at least the third aircraft transporting weapons and military equipment from Israel to Azerbaijan in September,” Melkonian wrote on Telegram on Thursday.
“Baku is carrying out a program of heavy militarization. The region is turning into a powder keg,” the analyst stated.
