Middle East escalation affects Armenia's security, MP says
The escalation in the Middle East affects Armenia’s security environment, opposition lawmaker Tigran Abrahamyan claims.
“The actions are primarily against Iran, but they are going to influence the balance of power in the South Caucasus,” he wrote on Facebook on Monday.
“It’s no accident that against the backdrop of Israel's simultaneous military operations in several countries, Azerbaijan has inked a new military and technical cooperation agreement with Israel and ramped up its anti-Iranian propaganda.
“Azerbaijan’s territory is being used for various operations against Iran, including intelligence gathering and preparations for specific actions, which will become far more dangerous in case of a direct confrontation between Iran and Israel.
“The current situation is absolutely explosive. The regional processes have accelerated dramatically, posing a major risk for new explosion in the immediate vicinity of our borders,” he added.
