Science Week starts in Armenia
Armenia is celebrating first-ever National Science Week from October 1-6.
Diverse, extremely interesting, and informative events dedicated to science and technology will take place in Yerevan and all regions of the country, organizers said.
From October 1-6, the Science Festival will be held at Liberty Square. For six days, the heart of Yerevan will be a celebration of science and technology, divided into three thematic parts.
October 1-2: Science is Everywhere
Through experiments, interactions with scientists, exhibitions, and discussions, you will learn about various scientific fields from the study of the universe and anthropology to molecular biology. Discover the problems each discipline solves, how scientific thought has evolved from pure contemplation to the construction of massive accelerators and space stations, what science is being conducted in Armenia, and how the world and science interact.
October 3-4: Professional Orientation: The Future Frontiers
Why become a physicist, chemist, biologist, or anthropologist? What makes being a neurophysiologist interesting? What impressive phenomena do astronomers deal with? How can a mathematician gain skills in artificial intelligence? Why is a research foundation important for becoming a good specialist? Where should you study, at which university or institute? The Professional Orientation segment of the Science Festival will become a platform where children and young people can get answers to these and other questions through interactions with scientists and those close to science.
October 5-6: Science Fiction: Imagine!
Science fiction is one of the sources that inspire scientists to turn the imaginary into reality. On October 5-6, the Science Festival will be dedicated to science fiction, from literature to cinema, from comics to painting. Liberty Square will become a fantastic planet where you can see your favorite heroes, hear amazing stories, and participate in various competitions.
During the first National Science Week, decentralized events will also be held in educational institutions throughout the country, including kindergartens, schools, and universities.
Science Week is initiated and implemented by the Gituzh Initiative, with the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia as a co-organizer.
The event is held with the support of Armenia's Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports.
