MP cautions against disclosure of Armenia's arms purchases
Opposition MP Tigran Abrahamyan has called for tighter secrecy in Armenia’s military purchases, citing security threats.
“It’s no coincidence that Azerbaijan's arms purchases are carried out in strict secrecy and only the military spending and at best the number and intensity of military transports by air are disclosed,” he wrote on Facebook on Tuesday.
Abrahamyan, who represents the opposition Pativ Unem faction, underscored the factor of unpredictability as a great advantage at the start of a war that could determine its outcome.
“Disclosure of military supplies enables the adversary to turn military equipment and weapons worth billions of dollars into wreckage in a matter of hours,” the deputy stated.
