Anahit Manasyan comments on her possible nomination as justice minister
Armenian Human Rights Defender Anahit Manasyan has refused to say whether she could be nominated to become Armenia’s next justice minister.
“I believe that I am exactly where I should be at the moment. I carry out the ombudsperson’s duties with great responsibility and eagerness,” she told reporters outside the government building.
Manasyan declined to answer the “inappropriate” question whether Prosecutor General Anna Vardapetyan, a friend of her, was pushing for her nomination for justice minister.
Also, she refused to make any comments on pro-government MP Arpi Dovoyan’s possible nomination for the vacant post.
“I have no further comments at this point,” the ombudsperson added.
