Robert Kocharyan explains his political comeback
Former Armenian President Robert Kocharyan stated that his return to active politics was attributed to threats and challenges facing Armenia.
"As long as threats against Armenia persist, my and my team's right is to be in politics," he told reporters after a Yerevan court resumed his trial over the March 2008 post-election unrest in Yerevan.
Kocharyan underscored that he left politics in 2008, but politics still "engaged” with him.
“I stopped engaging in politics in 2008. In 2018, politics started engaging with me,” he said.
