October 12 is World Arthritis Day
Every year 12 October is marked as World Arthritis Day to help raise awareness in all audiences across the world of the existence and impact of rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases, often referred to as RMDs.
In 1996, World Arthritis Day was established by Arthritis and Rheumatism International (ARI). World Arthritis Day also highlights the importance of early diagnosis, self-management, and access to adequate treatment.
The theme for World Arthritis Day 2024 is “Informed Choices, Better Outcomes.” This year’s focus on World Arthritis Day is on improving access to information as people living with rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases (RMDs) are often confronted with an overwhelming flood of information to process and navigate.
