Azerbaijani propaganda has falsely claimed that Armenia is planning to “attack” Azerbaijan at NATO’s behest in order to seize new territories and exchange them for the areas inside Armenia occupied by Azeri troops, opposition lawmaker Tigran Abrahamyan warns.

“The alarming part of this report for us is that Azerbaijan is either ramping up its propaganda war, or is trying to create an imitation of an Armenian attack and take action in some area,” he wrote on Facebook on Saturday.

Abrahamyan slammed the Armenian authorities for failure to counter the Azerbaijani lies.

“Armenia’s ruling party has channeled all its information resources into spreading fake news and discrediting opposition figures. Meanwhile, the issue of vulnerability of external information security remains secondary for them,” the MP stated.
