Armenian football legend Nikita Simonyan celebrates 98th birthday
Soviet Armenian football legend Nikita Simonyan, a 1956 Olympic champion and first vice-president of the Russian Football Union (RFU), celebrates his 98th birthday on Saturday.
The Football Federation of Armenia has extended birthday greetings to Simonyan.
“The Football Federation of Armenia wishes a happy birthday to legendary footballer and coach Nikita Simonyan,” it said in a social media post.
“FFA expresses its deep gratitude to Nikita Simonyan for his invaluable contribution to the development of Armenian football. We wish him sound health and happiness,” the federation added.
