Opposition insists on snap municipal elections in Yerevan
The opposition Mother Armenia faction insists on snap elections to the Yerevan City Council.
At a meeting of the municipal council on Tuesday, Mother Armenia faction head Manuk Sukiasyan highlighted that Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan expressed readiness for snap elections earlier in September.
The opposition councilor deplored the failure to put the item on the agenda of Tuesday’s City Council meeting.
“The election of new municipal authorities is more relevant than ever,” Sukiasyan stated.
Avinyan promised to address the issue at a Q&A session.
