47 Armenian police officers sacked for drug use this year
47 police officers have been dismissed for drug use in Armenia this year, Interior Minister Vahe Ghazaryan said.
At parliamentary hearings on Tuesday, he highlighted drug testing as mandatory for certification of police officers.
The minister said illicit drug trafficking cases in Armenia remained a major concern, at the same time hailing patrol police for their great efforts to discover them.
“We collaborate with the Investigative Committee and revelations particularly related to online drug trafficking cases are expected in the near future,” Ghazaryan added.
