Hayat Project holds big concert in Yerevan
Upbeat atmosphere, songs, dances, non-stop applause and a minute’s silence for those who fell defending the homeland: All this happened at Yerevan’s Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concerts Complex on 19 October with Hayat Project onstage.
The concert marking the band’s fifth anniversary featured its popular songs, as well as a new version of the song "I am your Artsakh, you are my Armenia” referring to all towns and cities across Armenia.
The Artsakh Jazz Orchestra and actress Liana Vanoyan, who has been collaborating with Hayat Project for a long time now, shared the stage with the band.
The audience was singing and dancing along with the band for two hours.
Hayat Project producer Vahe Kirakosyan told Panorama.am that holding a concert at the Karen Demirchyan Complex was one of the band’s major goals.
“During the conversations with the artists five years ago, we told them that they were going to perform onstage at Armenia’s biggest concert hall,” the producer underlined. “This concert fulfilled one of our key objectives in Armenia. We will continue to work and conquer other big stages worldwide. A big concert is scheduled to be held in Los Angeles at the end of the year, with more coming next year.”
Kirakosyan claims that the band has broken a stereotype in Armenia. "They say that Armenians are not good at team games. If we view this as a game, we have created a team that works harmoniously as one person. Naturally, there are different opinions and disagreements within the team, but when you know how to manage, understand and show a special approach to everyone, as each of the artists is unique, everything works out,” he stated.
Speaking about the concert repertoire, Kirakosyan said: “This is a producer's work. We sit down with our team and work out a strategy. This is exclusively the result of professional production work.”
Songwriter Ruben Mkhitaryan is also one of the band’s producers.
“Let's warmly applaud these people who have been cheering you up and giving you their love for five years. I want you to applaud yourself as well, because you are the ones who created this group, who filled this wonderful hall,” Mkhitaryan said, addressing the audience at the concert.
In order to attend the concert of their favorite band, people came to Yerevan from different parts of Armenia. They were highly impressed and in high spirits after the concert, saying “I am delighted”, “It’s amazing”, “The concert was lit”, “No comments” and “They spotlighted patriotism during the whole concert”.
Hayat Projet has already performed in Moscow and European cities as part of a concert tour marking its fifth anniversary. On November 24, the band is set to perform its unique hits for the Los Angeles audience.
