Armenia's delegate withdraws from Miss Universe
The winner of Miss Universe Armenia, Irina Zakharova, has pulled out of the Miss Universe competition due to "family circumstances", organizers announced on Sunday.
"We regret to inform you that the winner of Miss Universe Armenia, Irina Zakharova, will not be able to travel to Mexico and participate in the Miss Universe competition," Miss Universe Armenia said in a statement.
"We have come a long way in preparation, and everyone was determined to perform successfully. However, due to family circumstances, Irina made the difficult decision to withdraw from participation.
"We thank everyone for their support and understanding during this difficult time. Irina remains an inspiration to many, and we are sure that she has many new opportunities ahead," reads the statement.
