Armenian leadership indirectly admits new Azeri demands threaten country's sovereignty, MP says

MP Tigran Abrahamyan of the opposition Pativ Unem faction has called attention to the Armenian leaders’ conflicting views on the peace process with Azerbaijan.

“Some of them call the negotiations with Azerbaijan constructive and believe that a bilateral peace agreement could be signed in the near future, while others warn of possible Azerbaijani aggression after or even before the UN climate summit in Baku,” he wrote on Facebook on Monday.

“The Armenian authorities indirectly admit that they are no longer prone to making new concessions to Azerbaijan and the fulfilment of new Azeri demands would pose risks to the country’s sovereignty,” Abrahamyan stated, accusing the ruling regime of “having crossed the red lines” in the negotiation process with Azerbaijan.

“It’s always the case with all countries whose leaders put the future of their own people on sale in an effort to extend their grip on power and pursue narrow interests,” the MP added.
