Armenian opposition rejects parliament debate on border delimitation regulations
The opposition factions in the Armenian parliament on Tuesday boycotted a debate and a vote on the regulations for joint activities of the Armenian and Azerbaijani border delimitation commissions.
The Standing Committee on Foreign Relations approved the government-drafted bill at a meeting on Monday.
Pativ Unem faction head Hayk Mamijanyan said the document could be used by the ruling Civil Contract party to justify “new concessions” to Azerbaijan later.
The Hayastan faction had earlier rejected the regulations as “unconstitutional and unlawful”.
Opposition MPs left the sessions hall as Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan took the parliament floor to present the regulations.
