Probe into unfit poultry underway in Armenia
Armenia’s law-enforcement authorities continue probing the recovery of chicken unfit for consumption after its official disposal.
13.5 tons of unusable poultry, belonging to the Armen-Hamik Brothers LLC, was transferred to the village of Kotayk in Armenia’s Kotayk Province and buried there in August this year.
The State Revenue Committee (SRC) reported that employees of the company later returned to the site, dug up the poultry and transferred it back to the company's warehouse.
The SRC asked the Investigative Committee to look into the incident.
“An extensive preliminary investigation is underway. At the moment, its findings cannot be disclosed," Investigative Committee spokesperson Gor Abrahamyan told Panorama.am.
