Opposition MP: Campaign against ex-presidents linked to 2026 elections in Armenia
The ongoing political processes in Armenia are increasingly influenced by the 2026 parliamentary elections, opposition lawmaker Tigran Abrahamyan claims.
“Discourse on key problems facing Armenia, which involves many forces and figures, aligns with pre-election moods,” he wrote on Facebook on Friday.
The opposition MP stated many political forces “are striving for power”, rather than fighting for the removal of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's government.
“This is also the reason why these forces and figures either did not support anti-government movements at different stages, or their support was purely symbolic. At the same time, they themselves did not initiate any serious processes,” Abrahamyan stated.
“The campaigns against the second and third presidents of Armenia in the recent period are also connected to the electoral processes, which are not far off,” he added.
