Opposition MP slams Yerkrapah Union chief's remarks
Opposition lawmaker Tigran Abrahamyan has denounced the latest statement of Sasun Mikayelyan, the chair of Armenia’s Yerkrapah Volunteer Union (Homeland Defenders Union).
Speaking to reporters at the Yerablur Military Pantheon on the 25th anniversary of the Armenian parliament attack, Mikayelyan stated that Armenia “cannot resist Azerbaijan" and defended the border delimitation process.
Also, he accused the former Armenian authorities of "plunder" while Azerbaijan was arming itself.
"Such remarks deal a heavy blow to the country's defense capability and demoralize Armenian soldiers," Abrahamyan wrote on Facebook on Monday.
The deputy emphasized that his statement indicated the Armenian government's failure in defense.
