Russia urged to press for release of Armenian prisoners held by Baku
Opposition MP Artsvik Minasyan urged Russia to press for the release of Armenian prisoners, including Artsakh’s military and political leadership, illegally detained and tortured in Azerbaijan before the COP29 United Nations climate summit in Baku.
“We expect Russia’s direct involvement to secure the release of all Armenian prisoners,” he said at a protest outside the Russian Embassy in Yerevan on Friday.
Protesters gathered outside the UN office in Yerevan earlier on Friday, demanding immediate action for the release of Armenian prisoners.
"The time has come to jointly fight this global evil, restore human dignity and condemn Azerbaijan’s aggressive genocidal regime,” Minasyan underscored.
