Azerbaijan has no plans to leave Armenian territories, MP claims
MP Tigran Abrahamyan of the opposition Pativ Unem faction has called attention to the discussion on the sequence of border sections for delimitation at the latest meeting between the Armenian and Azerbaijani deputy prime ministers.
“The main task is to figure out the order of priority for the Armenian-Azerbaijani border delineations,” he wrote on Facebook on Tuesday, highlighting that the border delimitation process has aligned with Azerbaijan's preferences to date.
“Similarly, the regulations for joint activities of the Armenian and Azerbaijani border commissions were developed and brought in line with Baku's interests,” Abrahamyan pointed out.
“Azerbaijan launched aggression against Armenia in 2021-2023, occupying large swathes of territory, and it would be logical to prioritize the border delimitation issue exactly in these areas.
“However, Azerbaijan has no plans to withdraw from these territories, where it has built fortifications and continues to conduct the process in accordance with its priorities,” the MP stated.
