France, Kazakhstan express full support for Armenia-Azerbaijan normalization
France and Kazakhstan expressed their full support for the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan in a joint statement issued by their leaders on Tuesday.
The statement was signed during Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev's two-day state visit to France on November 4-5 at the invitation of French President Emmanuel Macron.
"We express full support for the normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia and the early signing of a treaty that would pave the way for a just and lasting peace in the region while respecting the territorial integrity of both countries and on the basis of the 1991 Alma-Ata Declaration," reads the statement.
The two leaders also emphasized the importance of stability in the South Caucasus for the development of the Trans-Caspian international transport route.
