Opposition MP urges end to 'disgraceful' chapter of Pashinyan's rule
Opposition lawmaker Tigran Abrahamyan has reacted to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s threats against Armenia and “derogatory remarks” on Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and his government in his November 8 address to the nation on so-called “Victory Day”, commemorating Azerbaijan’s victory in the 2020 Artsakh war.
“Aliyev brags about forcing Pashinyan to replace his famous slogan “Artsakh is Armenia, period!” with the wording “Karabakh is Azerbaijan!”. The Azeri leader next announces that he also compelled Pashinyan to surrender four border villages this year. So much for the “border delimitation” promoted by the current Armenian leadership,” Abrahamyan wrote on Facebook on Saturday.
In his address, Aliyev again warned Armenia against militarization and spoke about the “return of refugees to their ancestral lands.”
Abrahamyan, who represents the opposition Pativ Unem faction, blamed Pashinyan’s defeatist policy and concessions for Aliyev’s threats and humiliating comments,
“Every new defeat and concessions will make us face a new war. The disgraceful chapter of Pashinyan's government must be closed. Otherwise, they will bring new tragedy and forced displacement to the Armenian people,” the MP underscored.
