Negotiations with Snoop Dogg continue for Yerevan concert, ministry says
The new date for the concert of famous American rapper Snoop Dogg in Yerevan remains unknown.
The concert, which was initially scheduled for 23 September 2023, was postponed following Azerbaijan’s attack on Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh).
In response to a Panorama.am inquiry, Armenia’s Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Daniel Danielyan has revealed that the concert organizer, Doping Space, is currently negotiating the concert date with the rapper.
“No updates on the date of the concert are currently available,” Danielyan added.
When asked whether about 2.3 billion drams (approximately $6 million) paid to Snoop Dogg by the government back on August 25 last year will be fully returned to Armenia’s state budget if no agreement on a new date for the concert is reached, the deputy minister pointed out: “If no concert takes place, the amount specified in the contract between the Armenian Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports and Doping Space must be returned to the state budget. Other requirements listed in the contract must also be met.”
The ministry also shared a copy of the contract and the claims agreement signed with Doping Space.
