Pashinyan again criticizes Armenia's Declaration of Independence
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has again blasted the 1990 Declaration of Independence, claiming that its content hinders Armenia’s existence.
“I have read the Declaration of Independence numerous times and have come to a terrible conclusion that its content is that the Republic of Armenia cannot exist. This is our biggest problem and tragedy.” Pashinyan told parliamentary debates on the 2025 draft state budget on Thursday.
He again touched upon the concepts of historical Armenia and real Armenia.
"A citizen of real Armenia is the one who does not look for homeland beyond its borders. A citizen of real Armenia is the one who searched, searched, searched and found his homeland - the Republic of Armenia,” Pashinyan added.
