Lawyer: Pashinyan has started election campaign
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has unofficially launched his campaign for the 2026 parliamentary elections, lawyer Yervand Varosyan claims.
His comments came after Pashinyan, a former opposition leader, shaved his beard for the first time since coming to power in 2018.
“It’s not only about shaving his beard. Pashinyan has again assumed the role of the opposition, forgetting that he has been in power for seven years and is primarily responsible for everything that’s happened,” Varosyan wrote on Facebook on Saturday.
The lawyer stated that Pashinyan would reuse his former campaign tactics and slogans to regain power.
“He is even going to sacrifice some of his slaves as part of the show,” Varosyan said.
“The Armenian people will hardly realize that Pashinyan is making a fool of them, while the opposition is unlikely to counter his political clownery,” he added.
