MP Tigran Abrahamyan warns of new campaign against army
Opposition lawmaker Tigran Abrahamyan has criticized the Armenian leaders’ statements posing "direct threats" to the country’s armed forces.
“Turning the army into an ordinary institution, as well as giving it a secondary role (according to Nikol Pashinyan, Armenia’s hero is a taxpayer), hints at a new campaign against the army in the near future,” he wrote on Facebook on Tuesday.
“Meanwhile, the authorities are drastically diminishing the role of the army, so that in the future any encroachment on the institution will not trigger a public backlash.
“The army itself is really sacred because it was formed at the cost of the lives of numerous martyrs, and its mission is not comparable to the role of all other institutions,” he underscored.
