Pashinyan thanks dismissed officials for cooperation
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan expressed gratitude to the dismissed top government officials for joint work and wished good luck to their successors.
On Monday, it was confirmed that six senior officials resigned – Supreme Judicial Council Chair Karen Andreasyan, Anti-Corruption Committee Chairman Sasun Khachatryan, Interior Minister Vahe Ghazaryan, Chairman of the Investigative Committee Argishti Kyaramyan, Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Gnel Sanosyan and State Revenue Committee Chairman Rustam Badasyan.
“The dismissals are not personal, but systemic,” Pashinyan wrote on Facebook on Monday, thanking the officials for their understanding and cooperation.
The replacements of some of the departing officials have already been announced.
At a cabinet meeting on Thursday, Pashinyan said he had already introduced new Interior Minister Arpine Sargsyan and Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Davit Khudatyan to the staff of their ministries.
Political analysts suggest that the dismissed officials will assume new government posts.
