Opposition politician: Pashinyan leading Armenia to 'final collapse'
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s administration is leading Armenia to the “final collapse” and Turkification, opposition politician Eduard Sharmazanov claims.
At a press conference on Friday, Sharmazanov, a senior member of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), accused Pashinyan and his regime of telling lies to the people about an imminent peace agreement with Azerbaijan after winning re-election in 2021.
The politician stated that all of Pashinyan’s efforts to sign a peace deal with Baku were unsuccessful despite his strong criticism of the Declaration of Independence as a document “threatening Armenia’s existence”, the Constitutional Court’s pro-Azerbaijani ruling downplaying its legal significance and the unilateral territorial concessions to Azerbaijan as part the so-called border delimitation and demarcation in Tavush Province.
“So, Pashinyan had to shave his beard and start an operation of sacking his teammates,” the politician said, referring to the latest dismissal of six top government officials.
“The dismissals are aimed at covering up the fiasco that Pashinyan has suffered in the conclusion of a peace treaty with Azerbaijan,” Sharmazanov added.
