CSTO chief says Armenia's absence doesn't impact its effectiveness
The suspension of Armenia’s participation in the CSTO does not impact the organization's effectiveness, CSTO Secretary General Imangali Tasmagambetov has said, adding Armenia remains its ally.
“Armenia's non-participation in the CSTO discussions does not impact the effectiveness of our work. Nevertheless, Armenia remains our ally and all our commitments towards Armenia are upheld,” RIA Novosti quoted him as saying on Wednesday.
Tasmagambetov stressed that Armenia can resume full participation in the Russian-led security bloc at any time, ruling out any objections from the other CSTO members.
Armenia skipped the meeting of the CSTO Collective Security Council held in Kazakhstan on November 28.
