New Armavir governor named
Argishti Mekhakyan has been installed as governor of Armenia's Armavir Province.
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced his appointment at a cabinet meeting on Thursday.
Mekhakyan previously served as deputy Armavir governor, an MP and head of the enlarged Khoy community.
He is replacing David Khudatyan who has been appointed Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure
“In recent years, Argishti Mekhakyan has been involved in the state administration system,” Pashinyan remarked.
Argishti Mekhakyan expressed gratitude for entrusting him with the governor’s post, promising to serve Armavir well.
