Opposition MP: Armenian leadership unable to counter challenges facing country
Opposition lawmaker Tigran Abrahamyan claims the current Armenian leadership lacks competence and will to counter challenges from Turkey and Azerbaijan.
In a social media post on Saturday, Abrahamyan said the offensive in Syria by Turkey-backed “terrorists” “is a striking reminder for the Armenian authorities who have turned Turkey, a genocidal state, into a regional mediator, and a warning for those who believe friendship and peaceful trade with Turkey is possible.”
“Turkey and Syria had warm and solid relations before 2011, but it didn’t stop Turkey from attacking the formerly friendly country and dividing it into parts over the past 13 years,” the Pativ Unem faction MP wrote.
“Turkey continues to put forward preconditions for normalization with Armenia and defends Baku’s demands and threats. The current Armenian leadership has zero resistance, competence and will to promote the country’s interests and counter the mounting challenges,” he added.
