Former Armenian minister sentenced on bribery charges
Former Armenian Minister of Emergency Situations Andranik Piloyan has been found guilty of bribery by the Anti-Corruption Court, Armenpress reports.
Piloyan, a recipient of the Hero of Armenia title, has been sentenced to 4 years and 5 months imprisonment. The ex-official will also have to pay a fine of 1,3 million drams. The court also imposed a 3-year ban on Piloyan from holding certain public offices.
Andranik Piloyan was found guilty of abuse of power, large-scale bribery and fraud.
