Armenia, Azerbaijan close to finalizing peace deal, Turkish FM says
Armenia and Azerbaijan are close to finalizing the bilateral peace agreement, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has said.
"There is a glimmer of hope for peace in the South Caucasus region. We’ve entered the final stage of establishing peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia. Our country supports bilateral negotiations," Fidan told Turkish lawmakers on Wednesday.
Earlier, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan expressed hope that Armenia and Azerbaijan “will seize the historic opportunity to sign a peace treaty.”
