Former FM: Azerbaijan seeks to disrupt peace process with Armenia
Azerbaijan seeks to disrupt or delay the conclusion of a peace treaty with Armenia by imposing new demands on the country, former Armenian Foreign Minister Ara Aivazian states.
Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, the diplomat brushed aside the claims the document would help establish lasting peace and stability in the South Caucasus.
“Obviously, the other side has its own perception of a peace agreement where Armenia's interests have little or no place,” Aivazian said.
Referring to the statement that Armenia and Azerbaijan have agreed on nearly 80 percent of the text of a draft peace treaty, the former minister argued that “nothing is agreed until everything is agreed”.
