Another MP expelled from Armenia's ruling party
MP Hakob Aslanyan has been expelled from Armenia’s ruling Civil Contract party.
The party’s parliamentary faction decided to oust Aslanyan due to a “serious disciplinary violation” at an emergency meeting late on Wednesday, its head Artur Hovhannisyan told reporters.
The move came after the deputy suspended his party membership for one month, expressing support for former Civil Contract MP Hovik Aghazaryan who was accused of leaking classified information to media and expelled from the ruling party in November.
Aslanyan is not expected to resign from the Armenian parliament.
