Court denies Ashotyan’s request for online contacts with teammates
The Armenian Anti-Corruption Court, presided over by judge Vahe Dolmazyan, on Tuesday rejected a defense motion to allow Deputy RPA Chairman Armen Ashotyan, to communicate online with senior members of his party.
Ashotyan, who served as Armenia’s education minister from 2012-2016, was moved to house arrest in September more than one year after being held in custody.
His attorney Tigran Atanesyan criticized the court decision as baseless after today's hearing.
Ashotyan has been charged with abuse of power and money laundering strongly denied by him as politically motivated.
