Opposition MP: Armenia not getting out of cycle of turbulences
In light of the recent developments in Syria, the main discussions revolve around the question of who is the next target of attack or internal upheaval, says Tigran Abrahamyan, an MP from the opposition Pativ Unem faction.
“Given that everything is connected in one way or another with Iran and pro-Iranian forces in different countries, there is a high likelihood of escalation towards Iraq and Yemen,” he wrote on Facebook on Thursday.
The deputy warned of “extremely dangerous” attempts to create a wider "bridgehead" for possible strikes against Iran and destabilize the political situation around Tehran though its neighboring countries as part of a new round of pressure.
Abrahamyan stated that Iran's neighbors, including Armenia, could also come under pressure.
“The South Caucasus is among the dangerous directions of this operation, while Armenia is not getting out of the cycle of turbulences in any way. The current situation poses many threats both in terms of possible provocations against Armenia and Yerevan's involvement in dangerous processes under the current reckless government,” the MP added.
