Drivers warned of icy roads in parts of Armenia
The Rescue Service has warned drivers about a closed road and difficult driving conditions in Armenia on Thursday morning.
In particular, the road linking the Amberd high mountain meteorological station to Lake Kari in Aragatsotn Province is shut down.
The Vardenyats Pass is difficult for trailer trucks to pass due to snowfall.
Drivers are warned to watch out for black ice on roads in the highlands of Syunik Province, the Aragats and Aparan regions hit by blizzards, as well as on the Ashotsk-Bavra highway.
According to the Department of Emergency Situations of Georgia's Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Crisis Management Center (CMC) of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Larsi highway connecting Armenia and Russia via Georgia is closed to all traffic.
