Strong winds in Armenia knock down trees, damage cars and roofs

Strong winds caused major damage to Armenia’s Lori and Gegharkunik Provinces last night.

The Rescue Service reported that the winds knocked down trees, damaged roofs, cars, gas pipelines and power lines in the city of Vanadzor, as well as on the Tashir-Stepanavan, Vanadzor-Dilijan and Martuni-Sevan highways.

Emergency workers were promptly mobilized and cleared the roads.
