Armenia-Azerbaijan peace efforts remain 'an area of vital importance' to Biden administration – State Dept.
The Biden administration will continue working on the normalization of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations until the last day in office, State Department spokesperson Vedant Patel said.
He was asked at a press briefing on Thursday whether the State Department is frustrated that its efforts towards the Armenia-Azerbaijan normalization have not panned out.
"We try not to focus on frustrations and just continuing to do the work. Secretary Blinken has long said, in a lot of areas, that it’s the so many days of just hard work until the – something comes to fruition. I probably really butchered that quote, so you’ll forgive me. But this continues to be an area of vital importance to this administration and to the Secretary, and we’ll continue to work at it till our last day in office," Patel said.
